FCP Euro Kits

slotanodized_finishBrembo is a name that is synonymous with quality, innovation, and technology in the brake parts market. They are a manufacturer that produces an array of brake parts ranging from OE style replacement rotors to big brake kits that have enough braking power to temporarily rearrange your insides. Before we go any further let’s take a step back and talk about Brembo’s history as a manufacturer.

Brembo was founded in 1961 by Emilio Bombassei. In 1964 Brembo began production of brake discs for the spare parts market. Later on the production expanded to also include other replacement parts for braking systems. Before the end of the 1960’s Brembo established itself as a market leader due to the quality of their products.

During the 1970’s Brembo’s position as a leading brake parts manufacturer truly started to become apparent. In 1972 Brembo became the supplier to Moto Guzzi supplying brake systems and components. This established Brembo as a leader in motorcycle braking systems. In 1975 Brembo began to supply braking systems and components to Enzo Ferrari’s Formula 1 cars.

70050A-1This established Brembo as a world leader in performance brake systems. Since then Brembo competition braking systems have helped win hundreds of championships in almost every facet of motorsport.

Reliable on the road, superior on the track.

The 1980’s was a period of innovation and expansion for Brembo. During this time Brembo developed the first all-aluminum brake caliper. The design and material usage was revolutionary at its time. This new caliper design was adopted over time by most of the high performance car manufacturers. Brembo also began to develop and manufacture industrial brake equipment establishing itself as a supplier for Iveco, Renault, and Mercedes.

During the 1990’s Brembo continued to grow as a company eventually becoming listed on the Milan Stock Exchange in 1995. In the 2000’s Brembo began a strategy of market expansion acquiring a Brazilian company Alfa Real Minas for their ability to machine brake disc and assembly flywheels. Brembo also acquired a British company AP Racing Limited which specialized in high performance brake systems and clutches for race cars, sports car, and motorcycles. Additionally, Brembo also acquired a 70% share of Marchesini which specialized in the production of magnesium wheels for race motorcycles. Throughout the rest of the 2000’s Brembo continued to expand the company through global markets acquiring and partnering with key companies.

Brembo is a unique company. They are an OE manufacturer and supplier for major car and motorcycle manufacturers as well as a leader in performance braking technology. Brembo offers a unique and fully tested product offering for pretty much any vehicle on the road today. For this reason, we at FCP found it critical to carry more of their products. Over the past few weeks we have added Brembo drilled and slotted brake disc sets to our product offering. In addition, we have also further expanded our offering of OE style Brembo brake rotors as well.

The discs of the Brembo Sport range are ideal for enthusiasts who use their vehicles for both normal road use and more performance-oriented driving. With their advanced characteristics, these discs combine the advantages in terms of durability of the best street discs with superior performance suitable for moderate track use.

We now carry a full line of Brembo Sport rotors that are either drilled or slotted to help disperse the incredible levels of heat generated during performance braking applications.  We have rotor sets available for most BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, and Mercedes models.
