FCP Euro Kits

One of the most disconcerting things that can occur is turning the key in your ignition and getting absolutely no response from your vehicle. For owners of Mercedes C-class and E-class vehicles, this is all too common of an occurrence and is frequently a result of a faulty electronic steering lock.

The electronic steering lock or ESL prevents the vehicle from being steered unless the correct key is present in the car or the ignition switch.

Imagine a scenario where you are in your car leaving for vacation and you forget an important item like a passport or a wallet. You turn off the vehicle, run inside your home to get an item and then when you return to start your vehicle nothing happens. You have your vehicle towed to a local dealer and you are advised it will cost at minimum of $1,500 for the replacement of your electronic steering lock.

Fortunately, Xemodex offers a comprehensive (and reasonably priced) repair solution to resolve this issue. In the next post, we will cover the process I used to repair the electronic steering lock on our CEO’s Mercedes C300.
