The engine mounts on your vehicle are commonly overlooked and neglected. Crucial to the operation of the entire drivetrain, your engine mounts act as the link between the engine and the chassis which absorb engine vibrations, all while keeping your engine secure. A properly functioning engine mount will promote positive shifting and drivetrain alignment.

Over time, these engine mounts tend to wear out by either sagging, cracking, or leaking, which can produce excessive drivetrain noise, movement, rocking, or lurching. If you’re experiencing movement in your drivetrain when shifting between gears, then now is the time to inspect your engine mounts and replace as necessary.

Personally, I recommend Hutchinson as a great alternative to purchasing Genuine Volvo engine mounts because they’re the OE supplier for Volvo. This means that Hutchinson provided Volvo with their mounts when your vehicle was being assembled new at the factory. Below are two Hutchinson mounts taken from our warehouse:

The first photo is of a Genuine Volvo part, and the second photo is the OE Hutchinson part.  Both of these parts are made by Hutchinson, and both were originally stamped with the "Genuine Volvo" logo. The Hutchinson-branded part has had the Volvo stamping removed (ground off from the rubber) so it can be sold outside of the dealer network.  To read more about why this is done and why customers love OE over Genuine, take a look at our OE Academy where we compare OE and Genuine parts in an interactive gallery.

Also, keep in mind that every part from FCP Euro is backed by our Lifetime Replacement Guarantee.  This includes normal wear-and-tear items, including Hutchinson engine mounts, for as long as you own your car.  We’re also proud to offer Free Shipping on orders over $49 and Hassle-Free Returns!
