If your BMW (or any car for that matter) is consuming more fuel than it does normally, that's one of the first signs that one or more of your O2 sensors are faulty. Luckily, O2 sensors issues are easy to diagnose and they're simple to replace if this happens to be the case.

O2 sensors are extremely precise components that measure your exhaust to help determine the proper air-fuel ratio. Just one faulty sensor can throw everything off, resulting in numerous, very apparent, symptoms. A massive increase in fuel consumption, to a loss of power, and even rough idling/hard starting, these are all signs that you should check your O2 sensors.

If you would like to learn more about how O2 sensors function, the different types available, and how to test to see if yours are actually faulty, you can learn more in this guide.

And, if you already know that one or more of yours are faulty, visit our homepage and use the vehicle selection tool in the upper left to guarantee that this BMW Oxygen Sensor fits your car.
