FCP Euro Expands Their Partnership With ZF Aftermarket For The 2019 TC America Championship

F
or Immediate Release - February 27, 2019, Milford, CT -- After a successful inaugural season finishing third overall in the TCR class of the Pirelli World Challenge, FCP Euro is expanding their partnership with ZF Aftermarket to an Official Partner for the re-branded TC America Championship in 2019. The team will again compete with their two 2018 Volkswagen GTI TCRs. FCP Euro's Marketing and Brand Director, Michael Hurczyn, will pilot the #71 while 2018 TCR Class Rookie of the Year and FCP Euro Director of Motorsport, Nate Vincent, will pilot the #72 towards their second season of professional touring car racing.

"Having met Nick and Scott many years ago, it was apparent to me that they had a clear vision for FCP Euro. FCP Euro is energetic and is not only willing to try new things but fully embrace new ideas," says Mark Cali, Head of Independent Aftermarket USC. "That energy and way of doing business leads to what FCP Euro is now—a growing first-class business that people are proud of and want to be a part of. We share growth initiatives and with ZF being over one-hundred years old, value tradition. Still, like FCP Euro, we want to embrace new ways of operating and welcome new challenges to grow at the rate they are," adds Cali.

FCP Euro and ZF Aftermarket forged a strong relationship through a year of motorsports and marketing of ZF Aftermarket's brand, Sachs Performance. For the 2019 TC America Championship, the TCR class is splitting into two classes; the first being a full global-spec TCR class for cars with sequential gearboxes, and the second being a TCR Cup solely for the Audis and Volkswagens running DSG gearboxes. The FCP Euro Volkswagen GTI TCRs will be in the former category, after taking delivery of two brand-new sequential transmissions to compete with other manufacturers at the front of the pack for the top spot while sporting its new livery featuring ZF Aftermarket.

"Here at FCP Euro, we have coined 2019 as the 'Year of the Experience,'" says Michael Hurczyn, Marketing and Brand Director for FCP Euro and the driver of the #71 Volkswagen GTI TCR. Hurczyn adds, "We bring a large portion of our team on the road, and our paddock is open to everyone who wants to share in our journey for the podium in the 2019 season. That not only includes our partners but our customers and automotive enthusiasts who are unable to make it to our local events."

With the promotion of Sachs Performance being so successful in 2018, ZF Aftermarket is thrilled to expand our partnership with FCP Euro to an Official Partner, encompassing our Sachs, TRW, and Lemforder brands. Being new to motorsports, I am looking forward to becoming more involved in that side of the industry. Having the opportunity to experience how a professional racing team operates first hand is indispensable, and something that I'm incredibly excited to be part of," adds Cali.
