FCP Euro Returns To TC America To Defend Its 2019 TCR Championships

For Immediate Release - January 17, 2019, Milford, CT -- The 2019 TC America season couldn’t have gone better for FCP Euro. It was a breakout year as the team, in their second year of professional motorsports, swept the entire championship. FCP Euro won the team title, Michael Hurczyn won the driver’s title with Nate Vincent a close second, and Volkswagen won the manufacturer’s title under FCP Euro’s direction. To put the cherry on top, FCP Euro was also awarded the 2019 Jim Cook Award, dedicated to an individual or team who has made significant contributions to the overall success of the SRO organization through promotional activities with a consistent display of good character and sportsmanship.

Now with two seasons of TCR competition under their belt, FCP Euro will be back for a third season, looking to prove that 2019 wasn’t a fluke. The driver duo of Michael Hurczyn and Nate Vincent will again be behind the wheel of their 2018 Volkswagen GTI TCRs. The cars have proven to be ultra-competitive, and minus a few issues, they have been extremely reliable.

On the track, the cars will look mostly the same, but in the paddock, fans will see a new look. After two years of race support from Heinlein Racing Development, FCP Euro has brought the program entirely in-house, allowing the cars to be onsite within the newly-built customer experience center. While customers pick up their parts, they can peer through the glass to see the entire motorsports operation just steps away from where they’re standing. At the track, fans will now be able to find the team operating under an unmistakable FCP Euro blue canopy where they will be able to pick up free swag, get an up-close look at the cars, interact with the same employees that run the company they know and love, and maybe even snap a pic in the driver’s seat.

Of course, none of this would be possible without the support of FCP Euro’s great partners. LIQUI MOLY and Corteco continue as title sponsors, with ZF Aftermarket, Bosch Automotive Aftermarket, and Akebono as official partners of the program. Besides providing financial support, the partners are truly integrated into the program, often standing behind the same booth at FCP Euro employees at the races, interacting with fans and customers face-to-face while educating those who pass by on the parts their company offers. It’s one thing for FCP Euro to tell customers that the LIQUI MOLY 5W40 used in the race cars is the same as what you can get in your street car, or that the Corteco seals sold on our catalog are the same that come from the factory of your vehicle but having the representative from the manufacturer there to confirm it proves an extra special validation.

The FCP Euro events calendar requires the team to travel from coast-to-coast, providing plenty of opportunities for fans and customers to meet the team. However, for those that can’t make it to the track, the FCP Euro Media team has you covered with social coverage on Facebook and Instagram, along with Season 2 of the motorsport documentary The Paddock streaming on YouTube and Amazon Prime. To keep tabs on the winter rebuilds, check out FCP Euro’s new YouTube series, Motorsport Mondays.

SRO and TC America have worked hard to promote the series, and everyone at FCP Euro is looking forward to the season to kickoff. First up is Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX, on March 6-8, with an Indy Car support race on the streets of St. Petersburg, FL, the following weekend. This season, the team will race at their home track, Lime Rock Park, for the Touring Car Festival on May 7-9, 2020. The full TC America schedule is as exciting as it is challenging, with the season finale held at the Brickyard in Indianapolis being a truly remarkable bookend to what should be another incredible season.
