03/14/2023 -- FCP Euro announces the acquisition of a West Coast facility to support their growing European auto parts retail market share.
After a decade of sustained growth, FCP Euro is outfitting a new warehouse in Mesa, Arizona, for West Coast distribution. Adding the Arizona-based facility was the next step in the business’s expansion, driven by a growing customer base. The new facility will operate in addition to the Connecticut-based distribution centers, supporting the auto parts distribution with expanded capacity and reduced shipping times. FCP Euro expects the facility to begin operations in Q4 2023.
Shipping out a record number of orders in 2022 was a success for the European auto parts retailer, and the new facility is set to increase FCP Euro’s distribution space by 150%. The new distribution center is a 146,000-square-foot facility with dedicated inbound and outbound docks, wider columns, a layout designed for substantial volumes, and a phased expansion to improve customer experience. “We are incredibly excited to be launching a custom-designed facility that aims to provide world-class service to our West Coast customers while bringing additional jobs and commerce to the Mesa area,” said FCP Euro Senior VP of Global Supply Chain Christine Pfleckl. “Mesa has welcomed our business with open arms, and we’re excited to become a part of this community,” she added. With the expanded storage and operations space, FCP Euro plans to bring customers shorter lead times and faster shipping on the West Coast and increase in-stock products nationwide by late 2023.
Head of Southwest Operations, Ryan Peterson, will lead the new facility, overseeing a team of employees from the Mesa area as well as transfers from the Connecticut distribution centers. With the additional space and improved efficiencies provided by an optimized building layout, FCP Euro is positioned to split their orders between distribution centers based on the coast to enhance parts availability and accuracy. “We’re thrilled to further our value proposition to our customers in the region by providing more inventory availability and faster ship times,” said Peterson. Overlooking the distribution center, bespoke offices will house the office-inhabiting side of the business. The on-site Pickup Center will start servicing Arizona customers looking to skip the shipping process sometime in 2024.
