How To Pass Tech Before A Track Day

If you've never been to a track day before, know that one of the requirements is passing a tech inspection before they let you on track. Here's how to ace it with flying colors.

Track days are pretty awesome—it's you, your car, your buddies, and a closed course that's ready for full-throttle action. If you've never done one before, SCDA is one of the best groups to partner with to get on track for the first time. They have instructors that'll ride with you to teach the racing line along with a list of other do's and dont's to make sure your day goes off without a hitch.

Most any car can be used for a high-performance driving event (track day) through SCDA, so long as it passes a tech inspection, which is basically just a safety precaution to ensure both the driver and the car itself are safe for other drivers on the course. Our Director of Motorsport and driver of the #72 Volkswagen GTI TCR, Nate Vincent, explains how to ace it in the video below.
