How To Replace The Battery In A Volvo Key Fob (P3 & SPA Platform)
Are you getting the "Car key battery low. See manual" message on your instrument cluster? In this guide, you will learn how to replace the battery in your P3 & SPA Volvo key fob. It's an incredibly simple procedure that you should do yourself instead of going to the dealer.

Steps required to replace your Volvo Key Fob Battery:
Step 1: Remove the key blade
Begin by sliding the spring catch to the side while pulling the key blade out of the key fob.
Step 2: Pry the key fob case open
Using a micro flat head screwdriver, pry in the hole behind where you removed the key blade. It shouldn't take much to pop the back cover off.
Step 3: Remove the batteries and replace
Remove the two CR2430 battery cells and replace them with new ones. If you don't know the orientation that the came out, Volvo includes a diagram inside the fob itself.
Step 4: Close the key fob case
With the new batteries back in place, snap the back of the case back on. It should just snap back into place.
