FCP Euro Spring Sale

lift

Most of you probably already know that FCP has moved its operations from Old Saybrook, Connecticut to Milford, Connecticut. With this move came many exciting new additions including our brand new, custom built, video studio.

For those of you familiar with our YouTube channel you already have seen the type automotive DIY content that we produce in-house. Let’s just say, the way that we are going to produce content and the types of repairs we will be able to do is going to be leaps and bounds ahead of where we were.

I am particularly excited about the addition of this studio to our facility because along with it comes a brand new 2-post lift. All of the videos I have talented for the company so far have been done in the spring, summer, and fall, mostly outdoors where the temperature was somewhere between 30 F and 90 F. This facility is going to let us film year-round under consistent conditions which is going to be invaluable for ensuring that our content is consistent and easy to understand.

In the past, all of our videos have been filmed (for the most part) with the car on the ground sitting on some jack stands. They were filmed outside in a driveway that is likely not too different than where you may be working from at home. To some extent there was a level of authenticity with doing the videos like this because we were doing the repairs just as you would be doing them. On the other end, filming these repairs with the car on the ground often proved to be difficult and cumbersome.

The lift of choice is a Benpack XPR-10A lift. Keeping with the DIY spirit we assembled the lift in house instead of paying someone to come in and do it. We know that most of you at home watching our videos may not have a lift or access to a lift and it may seem somewhat unfair we are using one. However, we can now give you a better view of the work we are doing. Essentially, this lift and the installation studio is going to allow us to show you even more than we could before

Just this past week we did our first video, a brake replacement for a 2010 BMW 328i xDrive, and the video quality speaks for itself. I am particularly excited about this lift because it’s going to let me tackle bigger projects and repairs I know you all will want to see.

In the meantime, make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel and get ready for tons of great videos.
