This week on Really Quick Product Reviewsour Technical Support Lead Kyle Bascombe shows how, if you own a C63 S Mercedes-Benz, upgrading to a better rotor can actually save you money. Did we mention it has performance benefits too?

If you own a 2015 model year or newer Mercedes-Benz C63 S AMG, you know it came with a one and a half piece front brake rotor. Replacing this unit at a dealer would cost around $1100 each, but we've got a better, less expensive option

Our two-piece genuine Mercedes brake rotor upgrade kit was original equipment on an SLS AMG and C63 Black Series. Essentially, it's a fully-floating front brake disc with an anti-corrosion coating. The best part is that it's a plug and play unit, so you won't have any issues with fitment, and is a two-piece upgrade for half the price.

The benefit of something like this is two-fold. First, the entire assembly is several pounds lighter (roughly 5-6 pounds) than the stock unit and since it's unsprung mass, your fuel economy and handling will be improved. Second, since it's two-piece and the hat isn't bonded to the friction surface, the metals can expand and contract separately which is ideal for driving on track during heavy brake use.
