FCP Euro Service Kits

FCP Euro Kits

Your ignition coils are what provides voltage to your spark plugs to trigger combustion within your engine. When your ignition coils fail, the symptoms can range from minor annoyances to major headaches. Instead of being stranded on the way home from work or during a road trip, you can use our kit to replace your ignition coils and plugs preemptively.

Porsche 996 911 Ignition Coil Kit Replacement Symptoms

Due to the location of the ignition coils on the Porsche 996, they tend to fail from being heat soaked. The ignition coils are placed incredibly close to the exhaust, and although they are protected by a heat shield, they still experience heat soak. After thousands of heat cycles, they fail from what would be considered normal use. Some of the major symptoms of failing ignition coils are:

  • General loss of performance
  • Rough idle
  • Poor fuel economy
  • Misfire with check engine light
  • Check engine (MIL) codes:
    • P0300
    • P0301
    • P0302
    • P0303
    • P0304
    • P0305
    • P0306

Porsche 996 911's don't necessarily have a standard service interval for the ignition coils, however, it is recommended that you replace them about every 30,000 miles.

Replacement of your ignition coils and spark plugs is straightforward. You should expect it to take you under two hours to replace them all.
