Spring Brake Sale

The Porsche 996 is well known for cooling system issues. One of the most prevalent issues is with the genuine radiator. Instead of replacing your radiator with another one that is guaranteed to fail again in the future, replace it with this upgrade instead.

Compared to the OE radiator on these Porsches, this radiator is constructed completely of aluminum and has a much higher cooling capacity. The original radiator is a single-row core whereas this upgrade features a dual-row core. Put simply, this radiator will keep your car cooler as it is considerably more efficient.

Porsche 996 911 Performance Radiator Kit Replacement Symptoms

It seems like a common theme on the Porsche 996s, the plastic parts of the cooling system degrade and fail. The OE radiator has plastic end tanks that over time are heat cycled which results in cracking.

  • Coolant leak
  • Engine overheating
  • Coolant temperature gauge reading high
  • Sweet smell of coolant burning

Porsche doesn't specify a mileage in which to replace the radiator. Instead, replace the radiator when there are signs of failure or as preventative maintenance.

Radiator replacement is easier than it might sound. On a scale from one to five, this job ranks somewhere between an two and three. It should only take around three hours to complete the replacement.
